Joliet Generals Final Roster Release

Joliet, Ill – May 26, 2021 – The Joliet Generals announced the final additions to their 2021 roster Wednesday.

Bryce Vincent (Concordia-Chicago / Algonquin, Ill.), Christian Jacob (Concordia-Chicago / Scottsdale, AZ.), Andrew DeMatteo (Ripon / Orland Park, Ill.), Clay Goodwin (Rockford / St. Francisville, Ill.), Blake Shallenbarger (Rockford / Woodstock, Ill.), Vernon McKinley (Rockford / Streator, Ill.) and Noah Jordan (Elmhurst / Bismarck, Ill.) round out the Generals roster for 2021.

Vincent hit .315 with one home run in his sophomore season for Concordia-Chicago. He played at Jacobs HS, where he was a .286 on varsity.

Jacob just finished his sophomore year at Concordia-Chicago as an infielder and pitcher. He drove in five runs on 11 hits, and threw 8 ⅔ innings with a 2.08 ERA, striking out nine. Jacob hails from Horizon HS in Scottsdale, Ariz., where he also played football.

DeMatteo transferred to Ripon from Augustana College and is a junior. He helped lead Carl Sandburg HS to the IHSA State Final Four in high school as an outfielder.

Shallenbarger just finished his freshman season at Rockford after transferring from McHenry County College. He is one of 12 pitchers on the General's staff to start the 2021 season.

McKinley is the final preseason addition to the Generals pitching staff. He initially signed to play at Finlandia University in Michigan, but he is now a freshman at Rockford University, and is one of the three Rockford pitchers on the Generals’s roster.
